Evara, Ireland’s largest private housebuilder, and South Dublin County Council have started construction on a new 1.3-hectare park in Adamstown, Ireland’s fastest growing new suburb.
Central Boulevard Park is being developed to serve as a green spine through Adamstown, connecting Airlie Park to the Urban Plaza at The Crossings, Adamstown’s Town Centre.
Due to be completed at the end of this year, it has been specially designed to deliver a high-quality and multifunctional recreational and social space for the local community including existing and incoming residents of all ages, those living in the surrounding area and visitors.
Central Boulevard Park is being developed by Evara in partnership with SDCC. The project is part of the Adamstown Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) Planning Scheme and is supported by the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund (URDF).

Evara is the lead developer in Adamstown SDZ. In addition to over 2,200 new homes, the housebuilder has already developed significant infrastructure including The Crossings retail park and Adamstown Town Centre, the first new town centre in Ireland since Shannon was developed in the 1960s.
The start of construction on Central Boulevard Park comes at a time of sustained growth for Evara. Backed by global investment firm TPG, the company is investing €2 billion to deliver more than 7,000 new homes over the next five years. Evara has delivered more than 3,000 homes to date in the Greater Dublin Area and is targeting a new annual output of 1,500 homes.
Once completed, Central Boulevard Park will include a mix of natural play, recreation and biodiversity features including eco-learning areas, dedicated wildlife habitat zones, a large plaza space, outdoor seating and a network of flexible land and hard-surfaced spaces suitable for both informal use and organised community events.
A range of play and activity areas will cater for all age groups, including toddler play spaces, a teen-focused area with a basketball half-court and informal seating, a play hillock with integrated slide, an earth-mounded natural play zone, and a dedicated calisthenics space.
The start of construction on the park was marked by a sod turning event attended by Mayor of South Dublin, Cllr. Pamela Kearns, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne TD and Michael Hynes, CEO of Evara.

Michael Hynes, CEO of Evara, said: “We are extremely pleased to have started construction on Central Boulevard Park. This is going to be a superb facility, adding significantly to our existing parks and public areas in Adamstown and providing a superb recreational amenity for existing and incoming residents of all ages. At Evara, we don’t just develop new homes, we create new communities and neighbourhoods by ensuring our developments include the amenities and facilities homeowners need to enjoy a high-quality of living. The development of Central Boulevard Park is an important milestone in the continued development of Adamstown, reinforcing the SDZ’s vision of a well-integrated, well-served and sustainable new community. I look forward to attending the official opening of the park later this year.”
Mayor of South Dublin, Cllr. Pamela Kearns said: “Central Boulevard Park represents a very important addition to the public realm in Adamstown and a significant investment in the quality of life of people living in South Dublin. Access to high-quality, well-designed green spaces is essential to building a better place to live, supporting sustainable communities, encouraging active lifestyles and strengthening social connection for citizens of all ages. This new park will provide a welcoming and inclusive space where families, children and young people can come together, be active and enjoy their local environment, both now and for generations to come.”
Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne TD said: “I am delighted to mark the sod turning for the Central Boulevard Park which represents one of three projects here in Adamstown being supported by my Department through the Towns and Cities Regeneration Investment Fund (formerly the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund). This important community amenity will provide a shared green space for families and residents, while also enabling the delivery of 585 residential units in accordance with the Adamstown Strategic Development Zone planning scheme. Today’s milestone reflects the continued commitment to building not just houses, but sustainable communities with the infrastructure and facilities people need to thrive. I look forward to seeing the park when it’s fully completed and being enjoyed by the residents of Adamstown and the wider South Dublin area”.
